The Appeal
Bentley’s Continental GT is a truly excellent grand tourer, providing powerful, luxury transportation of the kind the marque is renowned for. But, should you require even more oomph and a touch more focus for the corners, then the GT Speed model is where it’s at.
Upping the power to a not inconsiderable 600hp and fitting a number of drivetrain enhancements to improve road-holding and handling, Bentley created what many consider to be the best model in the range.
This example is finished in a handsome and desirable specification, comes with an extensive service record, and genuinely low mileage. Few cars offer the sumptuous fusion of pace and opulence that this car does. If you’re looking to cross continents in effortless elegance and have fun while you’re doing it, then this is the car for you.

The Mechanics
- 5998cc twin-turbo W12
- Automatic six-speed with paddle-shift
- All wheel drive
- Speed sensitive power-assisted steering
- Self-levelling air suspension
- Traction control and stability management
In the GT Speed, the iconic 5998cc twin-turbo W12 engine is fitted with uprated internals. The result is a huge 600hp and 553lb-ft, a 50hp hike over the standard model. As you may expect, the result is startling, with factory performance figures of 0-62mph in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 202mph.
Ensuring the handling and comfort are just as you’d expect, the self-levelling air suspension was augmented with upgraded sports suspension, with better dampers and springs offering more feel over the standard GT.
The all-wheel drive system offers true stability and predictable handling, with a ‘Dynamic’ mode for when you want to attack some twisty roads. Meanwhile, the transmission is an automatic six-speed with paddle-shift function, so you can sit back and cruise or take control of the shifts yourself.
It appears that the car is in overall excellent mechanical condition, with an excellent service and MOT record. It was last serviced in May 2022 at 36,808 miles by a Bentley specialist.
The vendor assures us that the vehicle drives perfectly, with no leaks, smoke, untoward noises or other mechanical issues at all.
Summary
Powerful, beautifully specified and immaculately finished, this GT Speed is a very lovely machine and would be the perfect companion on any grand tour. With its fine history and low mileage, you can have real confidence that this Bentley is ready for many more adventures.
