The Appeal
The Audi A4 first appeared in 1994 as a replacement for the popular Audi 80.
The internal designation carried on from the Audi 80’s and hence was known as the B5.
To continue the confusion the first model designated as the S4 was actually based on the Audi 100 back in 1991. From 1997, however, all S4’s have been based on the A4 model line.

The B7 model seen here was released in late 2004 and was essentially a mid-life update of the B6 model.
The key detail, of course, is that the B7 retained the epic 4.2 litre V8 powerplant of its predecessor.
Originally good for 339 bhp at a heady 7,000 rpm was sufficient to propel the S4 directly into the performance saloon hall of fame.

Summary
The B7 Audi S4 is one of those modern classics where all the starts seem to be aligning with regards to its current and future desirability.
The last of the V8 cars offering very impressive performance but in a very civilised, comfortable, and usable package. It is very subtle too, which doesn’t draw unwanted or un-needed attention to itself.
Add to that the fact that well serviced, low mileage and unmodified examples are becoming rare and you have a very promising mix.

It’s one of the very few modern classics that deserves the much-used title of a car for all seasons.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to own this sublime V8 Q-car.
