The Background:
The Jaguar XK8 (project code 100) is a Grand Tourer and this model fitted with the 4.2 litre V8
The engine is as refined and classic as they come, resplendent in British Racing green with Ivory leather interior it is in outstanding condition.
The XK8 produces 300 bhp and is limited to 155 mph, springing from 0-60 in 6.6 seconds. The 6 speed automatic enhances the GT role it plays in the Jaguar model lineup, introduced in 1996 the cars styling changed slightly for this update model, the car sits on 20” multispoke alloys and is enhanced by the computer active technology adaptive suspension, giving this large GT a smooth and elegant ride.
This car played an important part in Jaguars history as it was deemed as a modern version of the prettiest car in the world, the iconic E Type. If history is anything to go by this model will be looked back on with even more admiration in years to come.
The Paperwork:
Registered in June 2005 the car has been serviced by main Jaguar dealers all its life, the last one taking place at 17931 miles, in September 2019. The stamped service book is present along with all invoices for the service work carried out. The MOT is valid until September 2021 and has no advisories.
All manuals and leather book case are with the car.
The Interior:
The Jaguar build quality inside is superb and the car with its little mileage looks as fresh as when it was collected from the dealer in 2005, no marks on the leather door cards, seats, facings at all. All plastics are in superb condition and the walnut dash is free of any marks at all.
The radio cassette head unit is working alongside the electric telescopic aerial, the car also has a Jaguar 6 disc changer in the boot.
Door sills are in excellent condition and no marks are apparent on the inside door areas, gear lever surround is as new and steering wheel bits and rim like new. The boot area is very clean and underneath the boot mat is a smaller spare wheel, still unused with the Jaguar tool kit underneath, again unused from new.
The electric operated seats and headrest are all working perfectly, along with the remote control key fob, the car comes installed with a Tracker system but this is not activated. You’ll also be able to step back in time with the built-in Jaguar mobile phone, which is housed within the centre armrest.
The Exterior:
Like the interior, this car's exterior is in immaculate condition, the British Racing green paintwork is in superb condition, enhanced by the Zirconite paint protection that was added to the car, we believe this was completed when the vehicle was new. The current owner has had the car in undercover storage to make sure that the vehicle has stayed in tip top condition.
The 20” alloy wheels are exemplary with the exception of the near side rear alloy which has a
minor mark on the outside rim, this is only visible when close up to the vehicle.
Bonnet, front and rear bumpers are in very good condition, no scratches are apparent around the door handles and on close inspection the only area we picked up on was the drivers side door mirror black plastic casing that has a scuff on the outer edge.
The matching green cloth hood is in superb condition as is the tonneau cover and casing.
All Pirelli P Zero tyres have good tread and no cracks or excessive wear on them at all. Brembo brakes are clean and set this cars stance off perfectly, these were part of this model's sports set up and styling.
The Bi-Xenon self levelling headlights are clear of any damage and are in full working order.
The Mechanics:
As mentioned this car has been looked after service wise by main Jaguar dealerships all its life, the engine purrs as you would expect it to with that 4.2 litre engine.
The current owner having not used it very much over the last year mentions it starts first time when it has been out for the odd drive.
