THE BACKGROUND
The car was originally launched on the British market in November 1996. Until April 2000 it was only available in one form: with the C-class four cylinder 2.3-litre supercharged 'Kompressor' engine under the bonnet and an automatic gearbox. Later, the range was revised and expanded range with 2.0 and 2.3 litre supercharged four-cylinder engines plus a 3.2-litre V6.
These came with a new six-speed manual gearbox or an optional five-speed automatic with Tiptronic-like clutchless manual operation as well as Mercedes' ESP traction control system and Speedtronic cruise control. The engineers sharpened up the handling, enlarged the fuel tank, moved the indicator repeaters to the door mirrors and restyled the bumpers, grille and side mouldings.
Inside, there was new turned aluminium trim, new steering wheel, revised instruments and improved sports seats with electric operation on the SLK230 and 320. The range was finally replaced by an all-new SLK model in 2004, making this car a late example of the first R170 SLK.
THE HISTORY
The present owner purchased the car from a Mercedes enthusiast in Edinburgh around 18 months ago. The previous owner cherished the car for two years and had plans to travel to Europe, but with the global pandemic never had the chance.
The present owner is a Mechanical Engineer and appreciates the build quality and design of this particular 320SLK. It has been used as a daily driver and much time and attention has been lavished on it.

THE PAPERWORK
The car is MOT’d until June 2023 and has a history of MOT certificates available. There are also receipts showing servicing and maintenance work that carried out at the time, and the V5C is present and correct.
THE INTERIOR
As this was the last model in 320 SLK range, no expenses was spared in the cabin of the car. It has a retro feel with all the clocks and gauges you will ever need.
The leather seats are heated and in good condition for a 17 year old car. The driver's seat has some slight wear as you would expect. The top of the dashboard is finished in leather and the main look of brushed chrome sets off all the instruments and gauges really nicely.

THE EXTERIOR
The car does have some light rust issues at the lower part of both front wings, and wheel arches as you will see from the photographs. While usable as it, the next owner may choose to have these issues addressed.
The glass is in good condition and the bonnet roof and boot are also in very good condition. The alloy wheels are 16 inch and present well. Overall, light corrosion aside, it looks very tidy.
