THE APPEAL
The fourth-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class debuted in 2002 and was true to the model’s roots – a large, sturdy executive model with exceptional ride quality and a hewn-from-granite build.
Whether as a cossetting saloon or an ultra-useful estate, the W211 was one of the best cars of its era and today the nicest survivors are very much sought-after, especially in gargantuan estate specification. The wagons were renowned in their day as arguably the best estate car on the market at the time, with huge load carrying ability, bags of class and the option of a pair of fold up rear seats that turned it into a stylish seven-seater. After all, a Mercedes wagon is so much nicer than a mono-box MPV.
Here, then is a family wagon you can be proud to own and also thoroughly enjoy driving.
Finished in unusual Perlite Grey, it’s a fine-looking car that’s equally at home ferrying the kids and dogs, or doing tip runs.

SUMMARY
Finding a good W211 Mercedes is getting harder and harder as so many of them were bought by owners who simply piled on the miles, especially the estate models, which were the class-leaders of their day. This one’s is a great survivor - a genuine low mileage example with seven-seat desirability and practicality.
As a great modern-retro daily or family-friendly modern classic, there’s a lot to like here. It’s a wonderfully engineered and well-specified E-Class that still has plenty of classiness and prestige about it.
