The first thing that strikes you when you sit in the Jaguar is how little wear is apparent.
No stains or bald patches on the carpets, no worn or damage to the leather and no “sticky button syndrome” that afflicts cars of this era when exposed to UV. The walnut dash is immaculate, not even a scratch.
The instruments are clear and there were no warning lights. The SatNav and radio all function correctly and we played with the various other switches and all seemed fine. There is also iPhone connectivity to the stereo, automatic braking assist, electric steering column, rain sensing wipers, parking sensors and so on.
To list the entire specification would take an age.

The electrically operated and heated, Ivory leather seats are in lovely condition with just one tiny area of wear on the driver’s seat back bolster that is barely noticeable. The accompanying leather trim on the doors and centre console is similarly well preserved.
The grey carpet in the boot is near perfect, beneath it there is an unused space saver wheel, tools and Jaguar First Aid kit.

The exterior of the Jaguar is quite outstanding for a car of this age.
The Jaguar Racing Green Metallic paint has an excellent shine, and only on really close inspection will you find the odd paint chip. The shut lines are straight and consistent and looking down the flanks of the Jaguar there are no door dings that mar the mirror finish paintwork.

Throughout its life it has been kept in a garage under a car cover, and it’s thanks to this level of care that every element of the exterior is so well preserved.
The folding roof works quickly and quietly. Operated with a button just above the famous Jaguar ‘J gated’ shifter it folds down neatly behind the rear seats and is concealed beneath the fitted Ivory leather roof cover. When in the raised position the green roof fits beautifully and matches nicely with the green paintwork.

The BBS wheels have been refurbished are in great condition, with Jaguar R callipers and drilled discs fitted. Tyres are Dunlop SP SportMax on all wheels, with a fair amount of wear but not enough to warrant replacement yet.

Fitted with the uprated 4.2 litre V8 this Jaguar sounds fabulous, fitted as it is with a bespoke stainless-steel exhaust.
It is quiet enough to potter around town without any noise complaints but when you get to the back roads and open the taps it barks into life providing a noise that is unmatched by anything else on the road!

For extra comfort the V8 is twinned to a 6-speed automatic transmission which is lovely and smooth, with a positive kick down and seamless gear change.
With only three previous owners, low mileage, and a comprehensive service history at Jaguar main dealers and specialists the new owner can be sure that this car has been looked after properly and definitely not on a shoestring budget!
Recent work includes new thermostat, fuel filter, spark plugs and a wheel alignment. The owner has also had the hydraulic hoses that operate the roof replaced as one has developed a leak.
We think that the Jaguar is in the best mechanical condition it could possibly be in, and with so few miles covered it is ready for the new owner to add a few more!
