The Appeal

When it comes to making an impact, nothing does it quite like an Escalade. With the iconic Cadillac brand and that brutal, imposing styling, it’s no wonder that it has proven to be a massive success in America.

On this side of the pond, they’re a rare machine – especially in short-wheelbase specification like this example. It’s also fitted with the high output 6-litre V8, offering in the region of 350hp as well as seven seats and all the towing grunt you could possibly need.

But as powerful and practical as the Escalade may be, it’s also luxuriously appointed with a high specification. So if you’re in the market for a formidable and very capable vehicle that is sure to make an impact wherever you take it, this has to be on your radar.

Front and rear seats are heated
The dashboard has cracked in the California sun, but a fabric cover has been sourced and fitted

Grey fabric headlining appears to be in good order
Updated stereo system, with 3D printed housing and new integrated clock

The Exterior

Black paintwork presents in decent condition, with the vendor telling us that the bonnet was refreshed in 2022
There are some swirls and blemishes to the paint, and we noted some paint damage around the side repeaters
We’re told that the headlights and grille were replaced in 2022
Side steps / running boards to aid access
Tinted privacy glass to the sides and rear
Fitted roof bars
We’re informed that the headlights have been professionally converted to EU specification
Main beams are Xenon, while the side lights, indicators and rear lamps are LED units
Wind deflectors fitted to the side windows
Rear tow hitch – we’re told the car has a towing capacity of some 2,500Kg
The underside appear to be in good order, with no corrosion or damage we could identify
Black and silver 24-inch USA style “rims” are fitted, reportedly worth $8,000
A second set of wheels – OEM GM items with a carbon style finish – come with the car
A full size spare wheel is present

The Mechanics

High output ‘Vortec’ 6-litre V8 engine, offering about 350hp

We’re told a new steering joint is needed, and that a new OEM part is supplied with the vehicle
The engine bay looks nice and clean, with no issues we could see
The vendor reports no faults or mechanical issues

Summary

For making an impact and getting seen, little else competes with an Escalade. This example is well equipped, with the most powerful engine, desirable 4WD system and the rare short-wheelbase design. We think it would make for a great go-anywhere daily with some real presence.
