The Appeal

During a bit of a cash crunch in the 1990s, Porsche was admiring the recently introduced Mazda MX-5, and decided to hit the compact roadster market in a similar format. The result was an impressive mid-engined car that took the nose of the 996 and the absolute best of the brand’s handling. It got rapturous applause, and quickly became one of the best-selling cars in the company’s history.
Y307 KRX was assembled in Spring 2001 at Valmet’s Finnish plant. They were a contract assembler (engines were made in Stuttgart and shipped up there) until 2008 for Boxster and Cayman, and had a stellar reputation for quality. All Porsche forums will tell you that the Valmet-assembled cars are completely in line with Porsche’s own build quality.
This delightful and original Boxster is in fantastic condition overall, and will draw admiration wherever it goes.
