THE APPEAL
If the original (and quite stunning) Jaguar XK8 isn’t quick enough for you, then be grateful for the XKR.
Powered by a supercharged version of the XK’s AJ V8 engine, the earlier 4.0-litre unit develops 370bhp - a little less than the later 4.2-litre cars, but still sufficient for a 0-60mph time of well below six seconds, accompanied by that unmistakable supercharged howl. It’s a car that truly stirs the senses.
This example is a very late example of the 4.0-litre XKR Coupé, in desirable Platinum Silver, with a rare Magnolia interior and Maple veneers. It’s a lovely, standard and eminently desirable example of a superb British GT that’s a true modern classic.
