Replacing the predecessor X300 XJR saloon, a very successful model produced from 1994-1997, Jaguar decided that something was needed to rival the super-saloons produced by BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Their answer to this was the X308. The X308 featured the new AJ-V8 engine, which came in either a 3.2, 4.0 litre or 4.0 litre supercharged, which would be the chosen model to challenge the German super-saloons.
The car we have here is that super-saloon competitor, the Daimler Super V8, with a 4.0 litre supercharged V8 and more luxury than you can imagine. The condition inside and out is excellent, and there are ten service stamps present, in keeping with the mileage covered. It is a hugely specced car. Being the long-wheelbase, the rear passengers get a lot more room and benefit from electric rear seats and picnic tables, ensuring life is as comfortable as possible whilst riding in the Daimler Super V8. nNDWSDEWakZE2bLvdVJMia9EwJ9qyS9zxhdZWmcu.jpg1.23 MB

Quite possibly the ultimate super-saloon of its time. Yes, it is a limousine, which does make it a touch longer than a standard X308, but the level of comfort, equipment, fit and finish is second to none, and then comes the performance. It handles superbly, is capable of 0-60mph in a touch over 5 seconds, and the gearbox has a silky smooth change.
Costing over £80,000 when new in 2001, this is undoubtedly a value for money car when you sit back and look at what you get for your money.
