The Appeal
When Westfield dropped Honda’s 127bhp Fireblade engine into their Lotus 7 look-a- like in 1998 they opened a new chapter for sports cars powered by motorcycle engines. 127bhp might not sound like much, but in a car weighing-in at just 475kg that’s plenty! Christened the Megablade it was offered in kit form for just two years before being superseded by the Honda Hyabusa powered Westfield Megabusa.
Purchased from Westfield in 1999 this Megablade was initially put together in 1999-2001, but was sold in a partly built state to the Seller in 2002. He decided that some of the work was not to a high enough standard, and has spent several years rebuilding some areas and completing the car. Recently it went for a short test drive up and down the lane near his house (don’t tell the fuzz!) and he reports it goes “like a missile”, but luckily it steers and stops too!

Unfortunately a house move is imminent and there will be no space at the new property for the Megablade so it’s being offered for sale.
Built with all new parts, with a fresh crate Honda Fireblade engine with six speed sequential gearbox and limited slip differential it would make a superb track day car. Alternatively it has been correctly built to satisfy the SVA inspectors, so it should be straightforward to get it road registered.
