THE APPEAL
Ever since the introduction of the Range Rover in 1969, the world has recognised these capable and luxurious SUV’s as superior vehicles, especially from a social aspect. The wealthy and elite have always been attracted to the Ranger Rover's class-leading comfort and sophistication plus the large and in-charge road presence that provides an unmatched feeling of importance.
The second generation P38a was the vehicle that really took the Range Rover from a capable utility vehicle to the luxurious and lavish vehicle it's renowned for today. This grand status symbol took the brand further upmarket combining superb and comfortable interiors with brutish and competent-looking exterior. Add the incredible off-road capabilities, there’s very little chance of ever breaking a sweat or having the slightest amount of discomfort in these iconic vehicles, no matter the terrain.
This 1999 P38a is finished in a delightful colour combination and is believed to be one of only 30 Vogue HSE’s finished in the Epsom Green Paint with gold coach line. It also features an attractive walnut veneer styling with very rare additional trim located around the air vents as well as the instrument panel.

- Good condition
- Minor areas of wear throughout
Inside the Range Rover, you’re greeted with 90s sublime luxury. The Lightstone beige leather seats with Epsom green piping are in great condition, with only the tiniest signs of wear present. These seats are as supportive and comfortable as the day the vehicle left the Solihull factory, a prime example of the superior furnishing you get from owning a Range Rover Vogue. The door cards are also in leather and are overall in good condition.
Walnut veneer is present throughout, with exceptionally rare additional trim around the instrument cluster and air vents. You’re without question provided with a beautiful environment, a place to compose yourself, to relax and enjoy the ride. The thought of driving thousands of miles in one of these things is an attractive proposition, no wonder hierarchy and monarchy equipped themselves with these beautiful vehicles.

THE EXTERIOR
- Epsom Green Paint
- Gold coach line
- Areas of wear
- Headlight covers
Stocky and aggressive, there’s no denying the Range Rover gives off an instant sense of capability and importance. It looks splendid in the Epsom Green paint, especially with the subtle gold coach line down both sides. Additional colour coding to the bumpers, skirts, sills and mirrors are part of the special edition variant we believe this vehicle to be.
There are areas of wear around the vehicle which have been photographed but overall the condition is good, the alloys have a few marks but look fantastic on this vehicle. The underside is also in good condition.

THE MECHANICS
- 4554cc Petrol V8
- 4-Speed Automatic
- Functioning Air suspension
- Drives well
- New battery
During our visit, we started and moved the car slightly to help the photographer. The vehicle started easy, with no hesitation and rumbled impressively. The flagship 4.6L V8 sounds as you would expect, mighty and grunty. The car idles and drives without any concern, it was manoeuvred several times with regular changes into reverse and everything performed fine.
The recent maintenance includes a new battery in June 2022 plus general maintenance and tuning plus a service in Nov 2021. There are plenty of invoices documenting its maintenance over the years, plus past MOT certificates displaying the mileage increments. The air suspension is still operating correctly, with replacement airbags fitted in 2013.
The car has been used very infrequently, with the enthusiast owner only covering a few hundred miles in their ownership. It is however reported to run smooth and perform as it should with no areas of concern.

SUMMARY
