The Appeal
When Yamaha released the YZF-R1 in 1998, it really did take the motorcycle world by storm.
With race-derived technology, it benefitted from deep reserves of power in any gear, at almost any point in the rev range.
Despite this, it was renowned for being comfortable and easy to ride (for a race replica), with low NVH levels, fine handling and excellent reliability. It remained the market leader for the next few years.

Here we have a beautifully preserved example of the earliest model, presented in completely original specification and with very low mileage.
It is now a truly collectible and appreciating bike, perfect for the enthusiast who enjoys genuine, unmodified machines.

Summary
Few bikes have had the impact of the YZF-R1. It marked a high point in the 90s superbike arms race, offering the kind of performance and handling previously reserved for factory racers.
It’s rare to find such a clean, unmodified and factory-spec example – making this a fantastic addition to any collection.
