The Background
Introduced in 1987, the CBR set new standards for the motorbike class, and the UK's first batch sold out within weeks of arrival. In 1998 the CBR received a more thorough revision in 1998, re-emerging with an aluminium frame and restyled bodywork. That same year Honda celebrated its 50th anniversary as a motorcycle manufacturer and to mark the occasion Honda UK released Limited Edition versions.
The CBR 600F and other models produced to celebrate the 50th year. These were entrusted to Russell Savory's RS Performance, the Bike benefited from various enhancements including different camshafts, a Proflex rear shock absorber, Dream Machine red and white paintwork and an Akrapovic exhaust system. The Honda also benefits from a set of desirable Harris Rear Sets and Ohlins Steering Damper.
This lovely example, garaged throughout it's life, also has a numbered plate and gold badging to designate the 50th Anniversary edition.

The History
Number '19' of the series, this Honda CBR600F Limited Edition currently displays a total of only 7700 miles on the odometer and has had two owners prior to the current one in its 23 years. The current owner purchased the vehicle in January 2021 and has only covered 280 miles on it, the bike is in very good condition and comes complete with the anniversary package accessories, Honda jacket, beer (unopened!), magazine and bike cover (all shown in photos), all of which highly unlikely to be found with other models, thereby considerably enhancing the value.
The seller is moving the CBR on as he is selling his performance bike collection to make way for a British classic from the 1960’s that has just become available. The bike also comes with a bespoke made Abbas stand for it, unique to the CBR bike frame.
The Paperwork:
This rare Honda bike has extensive paperwork covering servicing, all MOT’s and accessories purchased for the bike. The current owner has just had a full service and MOT so it is ready to go, receipts are present for the new tyres as well. The bike also comes with two original keys and fobs along with original manuals.
Early 2021 after purchasing the bike, new tyres were fitted, the carbs were stripped and cleaned with new gaskets, rubbers and balanced. A small exhaust repair, storage incurred, was carried out to maintain excellent aesthetics, with supporting paperwork.
The Exterior:
This 1998 50th Anniversary edition has been looked after by all three owners, paintwork is very good and cosmetically all badges are in superb condition, there are a few small blemishes on the lacquer which are shown in the photographs, which you would expect on a vehicle of this age. Tyres are new and are the Bridgestone ”Battlax” which are a good mix of road and performance tyres.
There is a small patch of rubber grip missing on the right hand side pedal and also a two small marks either side of the rear handle, again shown in the photos. The right hand side mirror casing plastic does have some fine scratches present.
The Mechanics:
This is a Honda product and appears in fantastic condition, plus the new service and MOT back up that it is mechanically rearing to go in to new ownership. The robust CBR engine in true Japanese style is known for its reliability and the owner has stated that it hasn’t been driven by him anywhere near to its full potential.
The Appeal:
Honda are at the forefront of bike technology and this CBR 600 50th anniversary edition was a sweet spot for the manufacturer, this is a unique opportunity to obtain a rare piece of Honda history and most likely the only one in existence in this condition today with such low mileage. This one really is to cherish and with all of the memorabilia that came with the vehicle it shows the care and love that the present owner has had for the "dream machine", we think this is not just a classic now but one for the future.
