THE APPEAL

Both a luxury roadster and a technologically advanced grand tourer, the R129 is a superb SL series that provides open-top thrills with a sophisticated splendour. Revealed in 1989 at the Geneva Motor Show, the elite convertible captivated crowds and wowed critics with its era-advanced technology such as Brake assist, stability control, active suspension amping, plus a pop-out bar to protect the occupants in the event the car rolls on its roof. In addition, the car featured a versatile roof set-up, which included a hydraulic fold-out roof and removable hardtop.

This 1997 registered SL280 is presented well with a great maintenance record, including several entries to the manufacturer's service portfolio and part invoices. The car has also benefited from a new mohair

soft-top roof plus a recent body shop visit where areas of the exterior were improved. It has been thoroughly enjoyed by the vendor over the last six years, being used on occasion during the summer months and being kept garaged and covered otherwise.
