THE APPEAL

Somewhere special to go? New business venture? You or your guests could arrive in style in this luxurious Rolls-Royce Silver Spur III Limousine.
This is reported to be one of sixteen converted by McAllester into the super long limousine. The Rolls-Royce presents exceptionally well and is thought to be in its original condition.
This is the perfect car to add to a fleet of other luxury limousines or could be hired out for private parties, prom nights, weddings, and funerals; you get the idea there are plenty of opportunities where this would fit in.

THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK

  • V5 is present
  • Two previous UK keepers
  • UK Registered 1st March 2020
  • There will be a full MOT when the auction ends
Unfortunately, there is little known about the history of the Rolls-Royce as no paperwork history has come with the car. It was registered in the UK on 1st March 2020 after being imported from Qatar. Whilst in Qatar, it Is said to have been used by a diplomat, and since being in the UK, it seems to have been owned by Deric-Scott Funeral directors for some time. However, as we mentioned, there is no paperwork to back this up, and we can only go on the vehicle's condition and some basic information.
Currently, there is no MOT on the vehicle, but the vendor will be putting a full MOT on the car by the time the auction ends.

THE INTERIOR

  • Red leather
  • Red carpets
  • Presents well
  • Two rear seats
The interior has been finished with black carpets and luxurious red leather to match the exterior. The front electric seats are in excellent condition with hardly any signs of wear and better than you would think for the age of this vehicle. The middle row of seats is also in excellent condition, as is the rear row. Matching door cards with a walnut trim are all in excellent condition with no signs of any scuffs, and the walnut cappings have no signs of cracking to the lacquered finish. These have also had the speakers upgraded.
The dashboard is finished with a walnut fascia which is in good condition, with no crazing on the lacquer. The instruments are reported to be working correctly, and the odometer has a reading of 89,212 miles. The switchgear all looks to be good with little signs of any wear, and again is reported to work as it should.
Behind the front seats is a privacy screen which can be lowered. At the time of our visit, this wasn’t working, but the vendor was going to inspect it as it looked like a fuse was missing. The headlining is in good condition from front to rear with no sagging. The black carpets are in excellent order throughout, with very few signs of wear. Inside the boot does need a touch of a tidy, but after a look inside, it all looks to be in order and the spare wheel is mounted under the car.

THE EXTERIOR

  • Royal-Ebony paint
  • Limo tinted rear windows
  • Original paintwork
  • Good tyres
Royal-Ebony with a red pinstripe and very long! It’s certainly a vehicle which makes a statement as it goes down the road.
Starting at the front of the car, the chrome work is in excellent condition, with no signs of excessive tarnishing to be seen. The headlights are in good order with no chips or cracks to the lenses, and any stone chips are minimal.
Around to the sides, the limousine looks nice and straight with no dings or dents to point out. The door shut gaps are all equal, and the doors open and close nicely. The chrome trim around the windows has a bright finish, and the windows all look to be in good condition with no apparent signs of any scratches; the rear area of the car has had limo tint applied for extra privacy. Being a limo of this age, the roof was covered in vinyl, which is all in good condition with no damage.
At the rear, the boot aligns straight, and even the light lenses are in good condition with no splits or cracks. The brightwork on the bumper and badges all have a nice bright finish with no tarnishing. The wheels are alloy and finished with chrome RR hubcaps, and these are all in excellent condition with no corrosion, and the tyres have a good amount of tread remaining.

THE MECHANICS

  • Six and three-quarter engine
  • Three-speed automatic gearbox
  • Low mileage for age
The 6.75 litre V8 is a tried and tested engine in many models of Rolls-Royce and Bentleys. With a flick of the key, the V8 fires into life, coming to a smooth idle with no unwanted noises creeping in. The automatic gearbox gives a smooth change without hesitation as the car moves through the gears. The vendor also reports the vehicle to come to a halt as it should in a straight line and no juddering through the pedal.
As you would expect from a limousine, the ride quality is excellent. There are no untoward noises reported to come from the suspension and the inside is nice and quiet, with just the odd burble from the V8 if you listen carefully.

SUMMARY

Being one of sixteen made is something quite special in itself; another is it’s a Rolls-Royce limousine. An excellent quality conversion by McAllester, which shows minimal signs of excessive wear.
If you want to ride around in style, this is perfect for anyone with a large family or, as we said at the beginning, a new business venture could be on the cards?
