THE APPEAL
Land Rover Defenders have a huge following, one which is growing more and more with time.
The problem is finding a Defender in good condition to start with. Otherwise, getting it to the standard you see here is quite labour intensive and very costly if you can’t do it yourself.
Especially when it involves taking the whole body off and stripping the chassis to enable it to be galvanised, with this one, you don’t need to worry about that as the vendor has taken care of this along with the bodywork, which has had a considerable amount of work to ensure it is in excellent condition.

• V5 is present
• Registered on the 25th February 1994
• Invoices for the recent panels and parts
The Defender has been with the 4 x 4 enthusiast seller since September 2021.
It was purchased purely because he likes to keep busy working on 4x4’s, putting his own touches to them and making them something relatively unique. The Defender has been put through an MOT test which is valid until 6th February 2023.

THE INTERIOR
• Original interior
• Well presented
• Safety devices cage
• New seat box
Inside is typical of any Defender you would find of this age.
The seats have been covered with some urban camouflage seat covers. The original seat material does have some wear to it. The dashboard is free from any damage, and the instruments are working as they should, with no warning light displayed.
The odometer shows a reading of 154,046 miles. To stop any doors opening whilst out on your off-road adventures, there have been new anti-burst door locks, and latches have been fitted.

This is supported by a Safety Devices frame which will look amazing in the summer should you decide to whip off the canvas roof.

THE EXTERIOR
• Finished in Keswick Green
• New canvas roof
• New tyres
• Window seals replaced
Finished in Keswick Green, the body of the Land Rover has been fully repainted, receiving new sills, doors and door tops in the process.
Starting at the front, everything looks to be in order with a full colour-coded front end. The headlights are in good order, along with the indicators. The bumper and bull bar have been freshly powder coated in black, which is a nice contrast to the Keswick green exterior.
Further up, the bonnet looks to align as it should. There have been chequer plate tops fitted to the wings, which are also in black. The windscreen rubber has been replaced, and a stainless steel pin set has been used for the opening front vents.

Around to the sides, everything looks to be in order. The doors line up nicely; new window seals have been fitted to the doors. The seller has refitted the doors with a stainless bolt kit eliminating any rusty bolts in the future.
There is Safari Snorkel on the driver’s side, which has been fitted along with new steps to either side. The roof is a Sand coloured canvas roof which is in excellent condition as it is new.

To the rear, the door opens as it should, and again, a stainless bolt kit has been used where possible. The light lenses are free from any splits.
The Modular wheels have been finished in satin black, and a matching set of BF Goodrich 285/75/16 all-terrain tyres have been fitted, which are in as new condition.

THE MECHANICS
• Galvanised chassis
• Pro Comp Shocks and springs
• Steering and diff guards
The Defender has the 2.5 litre TDI engine fitted.
This starts up and runs as it should with no untoward noises coming from the engine bay. The seller reports the 4x4 pulls well through all of the gears, and the change is smooth. There are also no noises to be heard coming from the transmission or drivetrain.

You may have noticed the Defender sits a little higher than a standard one. This is thanks to the 2” Pro Comp shocks and springs used to achieve this, and there is also a set of rear dislocation cones fitted.
One of the main things to point out with the Defender is that the chassis has been galvanised, meaning many years without the worry of corrosion creeping in.
In addition, steering and diff guards have been fitted, should the new owner want to take the 4x4 off-roading there is some added protection.
