The Appeal
Produced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Range Rover and as a tribute to the original designer of the vehicle; Charles Spencer King, the CSK edition is a truly rare vehicle. With just 200 ever produced, finding an original example of the CSK in as excellent condition as this particular example is becoming a near-impossible task.
The History and Paperwork
- Just 2 former keepers
- A mere 69K on the clock
- MOT until October 2022
- 10 main dealer stamps
- Well maintained
- No.23 of 200

This Range Rover CSK began life in 1991, as part of just 200 other examples ever built. Rather remarkably, the vehicle has just 2 previous keepers and has only covered 69 thousand miles. After being acquired by the current keeper in 2001, the Range Rover has hardly ventured far, has been treasured as part of a collection, and has been maintained to a high standard. Now, the vehicle is ready to be enjoyed by a lucky new owner, where it will no doubt serve as a fantastic addition to a collection, or even a dependable workhorse.
The vehicle includes a fantastic collection of paperwork, which includes previous MOT certificates, invoices for labour and parts, and the V5C document. The car also comes with the original handbooks, along with the original service booklet with 10 main dealer stamps, 2 keys, a spare service booklet, and various sundries.
The Interior
- Excellent condition and very well preserved
- Tan perforated leather interior
- Original specification
- No.23 of 200 CSK plaque
- Original spare wheel
This CSK is a fine example of a very well cared for vehicle, with an interior that would easily rival much newer cars. Both perforated tan leather seats are in superb condition, with only the driver’s seat showing the most minor signs of wear. The rear seats also present themselves beautifully, and could very likely have never actually been used more than a handful of times.
Matching leather door cards tan carpets follow suit, showing very few signs of age. The headliner is also in great condition, with only minor sagging towards the rear where the old adhesive has no doubt lost its effectiveness over the years.
The steering wheel, dashboard, and wooden details also look excellent and are a fantastic nod towards classic Range Rover interior styling. In addition to the above, all controls, dials, and gauges are not only in full working order but show minimal wear on contact points.
Other than an aftermarket head unit, the cabin shows off its original finish with pride and certainly benefits from a tremendous amount of care shown over the years. As pictured, the original radio will also be included with the vehicle should the new owner wish to re-install the component after some possible TLC.
The Exterior
- Beluga Black paintwork
- Original wheels
- Excellent original condition
- Original CSK decals, with spares
To say this vehicle is now over 30 years old is rather impressive, as the vehicle still retains its factory Beluga Black finish rather well. This Range Rover looks excellent with just a few age-related marks scattered around the car, the most obvious of which is a small area of paint bubbling on the lower of the passenger’s door. The rear bumper retaining strip also shows signs of age, but fortunately, the new owner will receive a brand new part to replace it with.
The car does, of course, sit on the original wheels, which look absolutely spectacular after all these years. Purely due to the age of the tyres, the new owner should likely consider a fresh set if the vehicle is to be driven a considerable distance.
Badges, trim pieces, windows, and lights follow suit and retain their original finish well, with the only noticeable area of damage being a small crack in the driver’s side front fog light lens. Should you wish to return this collectible Range Rover to its full glory, it certainly won’t take much work other than a small amount of TLC and paint in various areas.
The Mechanics
- Performs without fault
- Starts up right away
- Stainless steel exhaust
- MOT until October 2022
- Well maintained and serviced
Buyers will be glad to know that this rare Range Rover fires up with the first turn of the key, and happily idles away, awaiting your next directions. The V8 engine and manual gearbox pair well to give you a reminder of just how a proper Range Rover should drive. Due to the addition of a rather tasteful stainless steel exhaust courtesy of Rimmer Bros, the mighty Range Rover also emits a tasty V8 growl that you are bound to fall in love with.
Although the vehicle has hardly needed anything major, this CSK has been very well maintained by caring owners and now benefits from a fantastic service and maintenance record. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, the current owner treated the car to minor rust repair in the form of new welded in sections behind the front mud flaps, and just in front of the rear wheel. The car has also been undersealed by “Before ‘n’ After Rustproofing”.
As the vehicle was previously fitted with a tow bar which has since been removed, full electrics are still available towards the rear of the car, should the new keeper wish to tow once more. It should also be noted that the original alarm has also been removed, but can easily be reinstalled by the new owner without much hassle.
Summary
The Range Rover CSK is a fantastic homage to the vehicle’s original designer and is a key part of Land Rover’s history. With just 200 ever produced, clean examples of these vehicles are exceptionally difficult to find and are seldom seen on the market.
This particular example is in fantastic original condition, in full working order, and is sure to fill any enthusiast or collector with pride.
