The Appeal
The E24 became the first of BMW’s 6 Series cars at its launch in 1976. A successor to the popular E9 coupe, the E24 was produced in various forms right up to 1989 with a total of approximately 86,000 being built. Production started with 630 and 633 models with the 635, as presented here, first appearing in 1978. Prior to 1982 the cars were based on the E12 5 Series platform but were improved and refined in 1982 on the newer E28 5 Series platform. It is these post ’82 models that draw most praise from enthusiasts and purists.
This example presents very well in a popular colourway. It appears to have been well maintained and comes with a long and advisory free MOT. In its current ownership it has had many new parts and components and is reported to run faultlessly. A fine and rare chance to own a very late model 635 CSi.

Summary
The well-proportioned E24, to many, is the epitome of a mile-eating, sophisticated German GT car. For many the BMW 6 Series was seen as a more mature and well-considered choice than perhaps more obvious, rear engined choices. Practical, in comparison, fast and effortless and achingly cool, the E24 has deservedly built a loyal and enthusiastic fan base over the intervening years.
This car is a great exemplar of the longevity and reliability of well cared for examples. The condition of this car with its original engine and predominantly original paintwork is great testament to BMW’s legendary engineering prowess. A rare opportunity to own a late model BMW 635CSi that ticks all the boxes.
