The Appeal
When Porsche launched the 944, it quickly gained a reputation as an engaging and surprisingly usable daily sports car. With its longitudinal, large capacity four-pot driving the rear wheels, it’s a well balanced and fine handling sports car. But with its hatchback GT styling and 2+2 interior, it’s also surprisingly roomy and practical.
This example is presented in good overall condition and would make an excellent basis for a light restoration. Fitted with a manual transmission to accompany that hearty 2.5-litre engine, it’s a great driver’s car that can genuinely be used every day.

- It’s reported to us that the vendor has been using the car as a daily and it “always starts”, they tell us there are no mechanical issues they are aware of
Summary
If you’re after a genuinely usable, fun sports car, it’s hard to go wrong with the 944. With robust and relatively simple mechanicals, they have a reputation for being perfect home mechanic machines.
This car looks to have been well maintained and presents in good condition considering the age and mileage. With a little cosmetic brightening, it would soon be very smart indeed. A streamlined Stuttgart stallion that we’d be proud to put on our driveway.
