Highlights
- Famous 16v engine
- Very original
- Useable future classic
The Appeal
Here’s a delightfully original low-mileage GT750. Finished a very striking candy apple red with bright chrome embellishments and period alloy wheels. This is a real blast from the past and is a machine that would still provide oodles of fun today as it did back in the 80s
The History and Paperwork
- Very original appearance
- Current V5c
- Currently on SORN
There is no appreciable paper history with this machine but it does possess a current V5c. The overall condition is very good and is being released for sale by an automotive museum based in the north of England. It has been purchased as a fully functioning and running motorcycle but would require some light recommissioning before use.
The Exterior
- Original colour scheme
- Clean chrome work
- Minimal work required
The paintwork is in good condition and has a distinctive deep gloss. The chrome work looks bright and clean and there is no evidence of any accident damage. There is the odd little scuff and age-related mark but on the whole, the bike presents itself extremely well.
The Mechanics
- 750cc 16v twin overhead cam 4 cylinder engine
- Front and rear disc brakes
- Alloy wheels
This bike was taken directly from the display for the photo session so has not been heard running. The museum has expressed that the bike was purchased by them in full running order and would suggest some minor recommissioning should be done before running the engine due to being on display. However, the engine and all ancillaries appear to be in a good external condition without any major oil leakage. The brakes also seemed to function normally during the photo shoot. There appears to be a pair of uprated, adjustable rear shocks fitted.
Summary
Although not heard running at the time of the shoot, the overall impression is that the bike is in a lovely original overall condition. The engines are renowned for good reliability and with a small amount of recommissioning could give many years of service. This bike can still deliver the fun and comfort it did when it was built due to its easy riding position and the fluid power delivery of that lusty in-line 4 engine.
