**Notice to bidders - the vendor has reported to us that although the car was running and driving without issue, it has developed what is believed to be an electrical fault over the period it has been parked up and will not currently start. The vendor is happy to talk through this with any prospective bidders**
Highlights
- Just 29 RHD examples in the UK
- Less than 500 of this model produced
- Luxury finishing and styling to rival any Italian car of the time
- With all the important original features and parts, this represents a good base for restoration or preservation
The Appeal
Incredibly rare and one heck of a head turner, Bitter is definitely not a household name and resides only in the minds of real car enthusiasts. Backed with German engineering and looks to rival the Italian cars of the time, we think this truly is a beautiful car.
It is truly evident why, when new, this car was very expensive and this example, although a little tired in areas, still looks fabulous and could be the pride and joy of anybody collection.

The History and Paperwork
- Low owners for it’s age
- All original pamphlets and booklets - Huge history folder
- V5 up to date
The Interior
- Very original and from what we could see, complete too
- Lush and comfortable leather seats needing some TLC but otherwise no rips or excessive wear
- Dashboard in very good condition with no obvious splitting or UV damage, again just in need of cleaning and treatment
- Wooden trim is in good nick with a high gloss and no visible lacquer peeling
- Original phone and Blaupunkt stereo (with manual) still equipped
- Headlining in good order with no sagging
- Gauges and switchgear all in good working order
The Exterior
- Nice Blue Sera metallic paint with areas of bubbling some light scratches but still presentable
- All plastic and chrome trims appear to be present with some localised damage to the rear bumper
- Gorgeous Ronal wheels with a really good finish
- Beautiful styling that could be easily mistaken for an Italian classic
The Mechanics
- Superb 3.9 Litre GM engine mated to an automatic transmission - Nice and tidy under bonnet with an untouched feel
- Was running and driving without issue, but the vendor reports that after a period of inactivity, it is currently not starting - this is believed to be due to the battery not sending enough volts to the starter motor
- New stainless steel exhaust system compliments the engine note
Summary
Overall a fairly solid and rare car. Beautiful looks and quality engineering make for an exciting car to own.
This example definitely deserves a full restoration given its immense rarity and prestige however, with a full years MOT under its belt, you can be sure the car that with some fettling, this is a off the wall car that could be enjoyed ‘as is.
