Highlights
- Exceptionally low mileage
- Excellent condition throughout
- Ex Patrick Collection car
- Original plastic covers still on the seats
- One of the best examples in existence
The Appeal
The Golf GTI is the iconic car that started the hot-hatch revolution, instantly recognisable the MK I Golfs are now sought after pieces of motoring history and they don’t come better than this. This is the “triple white” cabriolet still with the plastic covers on the seats from new.
Having covered only a shade over 12,000 miles from new it is in truly remarkable condition, showing almost no signs of use at all. Given the Golf GTI is the original hot-hatch it can be hard to find examples that havent been enjoyed thoroughly, let alone in this condition.

The History and Paperwork
- Part of The Patrick Collection for 32 years
- V5 present
- MOT until July
- Historic MOTs documenting mileage
- Original owners instruction manual
The Interior
- Original plastic seat covers still in place from new - the seats are pristine
- Exceptional condition throughout
- All original and everything works as it should
The interior of this Golf is pure 80’s heaven, the plastic wrapped seats are finished in white cloth along with white door cards which contrast with the boxy black dashboard to create a beautiful interior that’s very much of its time. In exceptional condition throughout the interior is as new with no signs of wear, they don’t come better than this!
The Exterior
- White paintwork, wheels and soft-top
- Everything from paintwork to trim is in fantastic condition
- All original and un-modified
The Golf GTi is one of those instantly recognisable cars and looks good in any colour, but the triple white is without a doubt the best of the best. This is a car that screams 80’s styling in all of the right ways. Everything is in fantastic condition thanks to being dry stored and having covered so few miles, from the paintwork to the light lenses and trim it’s exceptional throughout. The only minor blemish (and it is very minor) is a very small mark on the passenger mirror as pictured.
The Mechanics
- Dry stored by the current owner and during its 32 year stay at The Patrick Collection
- Original factory Waxoyl still visible underneath
- MOT’d and ready to drive
- Starts, idles and runs perfectly
As with this rest of the car it’s mechanically exceptional, thanks to a combination of dry storage and such a low mileage. It starts easily, idles smoothly and sounds good with no unwanted sounds. The owner reports that it drives like new as we would expect with such a fantastic example.
Summary
An iconic car, in the best colourway, in exceptional condition and part of a historical collection this is a very special Golf GTi that’s not to be missed.
