The Appeal
The Porsche 911 is often stated as being one of the best drivers’ cars around and with a refined chassis whilst still keeping the elements that made the original 911 different, the second-generation G-Series has to be one of the best.
This particular car, a 1982 911SC Targa painted in stunning white paint including various styling cues from the legendary Turbo is a model to be appreciated. Having spent 29 years being looked after in ideal conditions, it’s not only a brilliant model visually but mechanically as well.

The Interior
- Very good condition given its age
- Black leather with iconic Pasha trim
- Cold air fan no longer works
- Full toolkit and space saver wheel in the boot
Porsche 911s from the eighties display plenty of character inside and this gorgeous example is no different. A blend of two-tone velour and black leather makes up the iconic Pasha styling that adorns the seats.
Behind the wheel it’s even more heavy early-eighties Porsche nostalgia; a simplistic yet stylish instrument cluster hides behind the equally minimalist steering wheel complete with a subtle Porsche crest.
With ever-so faded materials, you can tell this car isn’t brand-new out of the factory, though for its age, we’re very impressed with the overall condition inside. From the dashboard to the foldable rear set of seats, the cabin is seemingly a great place to be.
The Exterior
- Concours-ready exterior
- Brilliant 930 911 styling including the Turbo spoiler and Targa roof
- Beautiful Grand Prix White paint
Arguably one of the best-looking generations of the 911, the 930 remains one of the all-time classics. In its stunning Grand Prix White paintwork that’s been maintained to the highest quality, this particular car certainly lives up to expectation. In fact, the current owner says that during their 29 years with the car, it has always been kept in a garage and only ever drives on dry roads.
The amount of care this car has received throughout its life is clear to see; the headlights, indicators and taillights are all perfectly clean and show no signs of fogging up, the Targa top looks immaculate and there doesn’t seem to be a spec of rust on the body.
The Mechanics
- Raw naturally aspirated, air-cooled flat-six
- Slight oil leak under the engine
In the motoring world, very few engines get more attention than an air-cooled Porsche flat-six. Along with a manual gearbox, this 911 SC must be one of the great joys of driving.
The car has received constant love and attention throughout its life with numerous invoices backing that up. With that in mind, the owner states the car drives and stops exactly as it should. Although, there is a small leak under the engine which may need looking at.
Summary
In its excellent condition and having been loved as it clearly has, this Porsche 911SC is sure to impress everyone at the local car clubs. Unhindered by modern-day electronics, this must be one of the best ways to get a truly original Porsche experience without any effort needed to get it road-ready.
