The Appeal
The 2CV van and its by products were evolving since its inception in 1951, the Acadiane, launched in 1978 combined the front of the Dyane and a cell of its predecessor the AK 400 van.
Production continued until 1987, this original and characterful commercial vehicle is an icon in France where they are still used for many businesses, combining an effortless ride and practicality in a quirky and fun design.

The current owner has had the vehicle in their possession for six years, the car mechanically was sound but the original paintwork had seen better days hence the need to do a full restoration of the exterior. This was undertaken by a local specialist paintshop that the owner had used for several of his other projects.
The paperwork is extensive with stamps in the service book when the car was in France, photographs of the restoration and also MOTs and some other manuals are present. Being an historic vehicle and whilst it has a long MOT (The current MOT expires in May 2023), it is road tax and MOT exempt.

The interior of the van is in very good condition, all switch gear is operational and the dash area is clean with all gauges working correctly. The floor area is covered by a branded rubber mat, underneath the flooring area is clean with the exception of some paint peel underneath showing some light cracks.
The vast boot area is clean with the wooden paneling in good condition, the grey carpet boot material is clean as is the roof interior, as you would expect to be after a recent restoration. All glasswork is clean and no chips or marks are present. The vehicle comes with a digital radio paired to a bluetooth unit.
The spare wheel is housed in the engine bay and is clean with a nearly new tyre.

The van has had a professional respray with a specialist classic car body restorer, a selection of photographs also show the car in preparation throughout. All tyres are brand new and the steel wheels are in very good condition. There is a slight paint run on the edge of the bonnet, only visible in a certain light.
The bumpers show slight wear on the rubbers but otherwise free of any damage to them. Other chrome work is like new, this includes door handles, mirrors and headlight surrounds.

The owner has an extensive knowledge of classic cars and has maintained the vehicle himself since ownership, a number of receipts are present and show the work that has been carried out. This is also backed up by a series go photographs which also showcase the underside of the van.
