The Appeal
Introduced in 1965, the MGB GT was a sports car that bridged the gap between eras. The carefree days of the 60s merged with the new era of restrictions and regulations of the 70s, and the MGB GT was there for it all. By 1975, the gentle chrome bumper and grille were replaced by a big, characterful ‘rubber bumper’ to suit growing US regulations, met alongside a slightly higher ride height. At first, people were scandalised - nowadays, it’s really rather a curious and attractive addition to the car’s lineage, and one that’s gained an audience of its own.
This example, originally based in Jersey, is a rare, highly finished survivor. Having had plenty of recent work carried out, this GT really is a superb looker and driver for any enthusiast, having been rectified of any age-commensurate mechanical wear and given a full overhaul.
