The Background
The MGB debuted in 1962 and was an almost instant success. The now iconic British sports car had a production run of almost 20 years and was the best selling sports car in the world for much of this time.
With classic styling, a good engine and being easy to drive the MGBs success was all but guaranteed. Even now 42 years after production ceased the MGB remains a popular sports car. With an extensive support network for owners, including exceptional parts availability and a host of owners clubs, the MGB makes for a fine classic car experience that few others can rival.
The History
Originally from the Isle of Man, the car was bought by a trader in Berkshire before being purchased by the current owner. For sale due to a change in circumstances the car is MOT’d and ready for the new owner to enjoy.
The Paperwork
There isn’t a huge stack of paperwork with this one, however we think the condition of the vehicle speaks for itself. The current owner has had the car thoroughly checked by an MG specialist and there is an invoice to this effect that alongside the check includes; new clutch slave, master, fluid and brake fluid.
The Interior
The interior is in fair to good condition for its age, with signs of wear visible, with the exception of the seats which are very good and have evidently been reupholstered in the recent past. The interior presents well and provides the comfortable driving experience the MGBs are known for. Whilst there is room for improvement in the interior this is nothing major and the car is more than ready for the new owner to enjoy as it is.
The Exterior
The condition of the exterior of this MGB is very good, it’s not concourse, but it sure does make an impression when you first see it. Finished in yellow and benefitting from a recent respray the car looks fantastic from any angle. All of the brightwork is in good condition with no significant wear or corrosion that we could see. The hood looks to be in good condition with the exception of a minor tear on the drivers side as shown in the images.
The Mechanics
Going by the overall condition of the car and the recent full check over by a specialist we feel confident in the quality of the mechanics on this MGB. It starts easily with a flick of the key and the 1.8L engine sounds beautiful. With a nice smooth tick over it’s apparent that this car has been well looked after.
The Appeal
It’s hard not to love an MGB, a true classic British sports car that saw success the world over. An easy to drive classic with low mileage and in good condition this is one that is ready for the new owner to enjoy the summer in. Benefitting from a recent respray and finished in yellow this little roadster makes an impression straight away and for all of the right reasons.
