The Appeal
First introduced in 1965, there’s not many vehicles with the impact of the Ford Transit. For decades, these vans have been almost ubiquitous across Europe, coming in all manner of shapes, sizes and customisations.
This example is part of the First-Gen Facelift, or MK2 model, which was introduced in 1977 to enormous success. Fully rebuilt by a professional restorer, this stylish blue pickup is still carrying its 2.0L Pinto I4 engine, which is reportedly in excellent working order.

- We’ve had no reports of any technical issues or corrosion to the floors
The Exterior
- Fully restored exterior with fresh, deep blue paintwork

- Black trims present well with no major faults
- We can spot some paint loss to the headlight surrounds
- Some scuffs to the bumpers are visible
- Glasswork and lenses appear clean and well-presented
- Some light scratches to the windshield
- The truck bed is in good order with strong-looking boards
- The van is regularly displayed with cards loaded upon the bed
- Sitting on its original wheels, which appear to be in fair condition

The Mechanics
- Powered by a 2.0L Pinto powerplant
- 5-speed manual transmission
- Engine and gearbox both rebuilt during restoration
- As a result the vendor reports it to be in good, drivable condition
- No reports of leaks, bangs, knocks or smoke from the engine
Summary
Supremely usable, and presented in top-notch condition, this is a great example of a late-70s transit that’s ready and waiting for life with its lucky new owner.
