The Interior
• Good condition throughout
• Black interior
The re-trimmed black interior is still looking pretty good with only a few odd scuffs and signs of use to mention, but otherwise it is all in good working order.
The edges on the driver’s dials and instruments need a little bit of attention to smarten them up but it’s still a very welcoming interior, even with the hood up when you can see some of the headlining in need of some slight repair, but the outside of the hood and the rear window looks okay.
The Exterior
• Very good bright red paintwork
• Good chrome work
• Excellent wheels and tyres
Overall, the paintwork and body panels present really well and other than some age-related blemishes, a couple of tiny light dents at the top of the bonnet and some scuffed paint by the fuel filler it looks a really nicely prepared car.
There’s a small crack in the lens of an indicator and the owner reports that the boot and glove box locks can sometimes require some jiggling with the key to get them to work.
The Mechanics
• Sympathetically renovated
• Powerful 140bhp 2.0 litre engine
• Very low mileage
• Fully serviced and ready to enjoy
Since purchase around a year ago from the previous enthusiast owner the car has done very few miles and has recently just had the carbs all cleaned and balanced, and it has had a new fuel sender fitted.
The car is reported to perform very well providing a sporty and exciting drive, especially with the top down.
The Summary
With only around 2,000 cars being registered in the UK the Jensen-Healey is a relatively rare sight on our roads today, and it’s a great example of those great classic British sports cars from the 70’s, that’s great fun to own and drive.
