The Background
The convertible Morris Minor Tourer ended production in 1969, one of the most sought after models was ironically the first to be taken off the model line up. There are many Morris Minors on the road in various guises, a true British icon and the popularity of these classics is increasing year by year as many owners family members sought to relive their childhood in a back to basics design that has stood the test of time.
The History & Paperwork
The current owner has owned the car since February 2007, an avid Morris Minor owner as his father owned one in his childhood and he has continued the relationship with the brand. In 2008 the car had an extensive £5000 restoration, this is shown in the photos and the car has been regularly maintained since then.
The majority of MOTS are present and over the last four years the car has only covered a few hundred miles, it has been in dry storage and presents a very good example.
The Interior
From its restoration back in 2008 the interior and carpets are in very good condition, having a full retime of the seating and other areas the red carpets and seats show no wear at all, mainly due to the cars low mileage since this period.
All switchgear works as do the heater controls, wind up handles are solid and the car comes with two full sets of keys.
The Exterior
The Rose Taupe paintwork is generally in good order, after a respray in 2008 it only shows some scuff marks on the rear wing and a blemish on the front bumper skirt. There is also a minor scratch on the rear of the vehicle to the near side of the boot area. The off side front bumper also has a small dent in it, the chrome work is in good condition otherwise around the vehicle.
The hood is in very good condition and comes with a matching cover for it when it is folded down. All four tyres have good tread and the wheels are clean and for in excellent condition.
The underside of the vehicle due to the restoration is said to be in excellent condition, as is the inside of the boot area, showing a clean loading area and unused spare wheel, the tool kit is also complete and present.
The Mechanics
The car has extensive service history, a complete set of paperwork is included with the vehicle including the extensive renovation work and the cars recent service in 2020, since then it has only covered a few hundred miles.
Brakes are said to be good as they have recently been serviced, the engine bay is clean and the cars engine note is characteristic of a typical Morris!
