THE APPEAL
Praised for its agile and light steering and fun, enjoyable driving experience, the Fiat 124 Coupé was an era-advanced car that helped propel Fiat to the automotive icon it is today.
Equipped with the wonderful Lampredi-designed DOHC inline 4, this 1968 registered first generation ‘AC’ Coupé is presented honestly and highly original. Preferred by many for its clean design, this ‘AC’ offering is a desirable classic that provides a more modern experience than other European examples from the same era.
Its appearance, while not concours, is very much original, with the exception of some very minor body repairs during its current 19-year ownership. The interior is as it left the factory, exceptionally styled and nostalgically glorious.
With only two previous owners from new and only 65,629 miles covered, this coupé has been cherished and adored, with maintenance being carried out as and when necessary. Its usage as of late has been very occasional, with only a few hundred miles covered since 2019. It did however get treated to a continental adventure, travelling to Northern France for the Laon Historique, visiting the Netherlands and Belgium on the way.
It's a beautiful European classic that manifests cool, class and style. With a little love and care, it could be even better.

SUMMARY
This Italian coupé set the benchmark back in the late 60s, featuring advanced mechanics and sophisticated styling at an affordable price bracket, so it's no surprise around 113,000 AC coupés were produced. Nowadays, however, a good, loved example is becoming increasingly hard to come across. This example, while not perfect, is a great example of the early model and with a bit of devotion, could be transformed into one superb classic.
