The Appeal

The Triumph TR4A is a quintessential piece of British motoring history. Its shape is instantly recognisable, and these plucky little roadsters never fail to put a smile on their occupants or passers-by.
This example is in particularly great visual condition following a full body-off restoration just over a decade ago and a number of years in dry storage. With new chrome pieces, a stunning dark blue paint job and a near-pristine beige leather interior, it is sure to attract attention wherever it goes.
With an electric fan fitted and overdrive gears, this is surely a useable classic ready to hit the open roads once again.

The Interior

  • New interior trim
  • Gorgeous interior specification: beige leather and wood trim
  • Excellent overall condition
In recent years, the interior of this 1967 Triumph TR4A has seen extensive work. New carpets and trim have been fitted. The result is a stunning beige and black cabin completed with gorgeous wood trim on the dashboard.
With very little use reported by the owner, the seats are in fantastic visual condition, as is the rest of the interior. From the seat-matching door cards to the wood trim found throughout the wheel, dash and gear knob and even the centre console controls. Everything looks to be in great shape given the car’s age, a true testament to the work undergone.
With the car comes a tonneau cover as well as the soft-top roof, both of which are reportedly in good condition. Further back, in the equally well-kept boot, one will find a spare wheel hiding under the carpet.

The Exterior

  • Restored body in seemingly excellent condition
  • New chrome in places
  • Very clean underside
As aforementioned, this car underwent a total restoration around 2011. This included the separation of the chassis and body, both of which were thoroughly rejuvenated, the replacement of panels and a Waxoyl treatment. Since then, it has reportedly been used very little and is still making the most of the extensive work.
The owner describes the exterior as being in “good condition” following its time in dry storage. The bodywork looks straight with little to no signs of damage. Decorating the car is a lovely, deep shade of dark blue that pairs nicely with the chrome details. The wire wheels were professionally shot blasted in recent times whilst the chrome spinners are all new.
Underneath, a Waxoyl treatment means the car looks very clean. The owner describes the chassis condition as “solid.” Finally, matching Dunlop Street Response tyres with plenty of tread on all four corners are a sign of this car’s good service history.

The Mechanics

  • 2.1-litre inline-four engine, 104 hp
  • Engine bay recently refurbished
  • Electric fan fitted
Powering this open-top British sports car is a charming 2.1-litre inline-four engine. Putting out a modest 104hp, it certainly has enough to put a smile on the driver’s face. Look under the bonnet and that same four cylinder looks exquisite thanks to an engine bay refurbishment undertaken in the last decade.
Paired with the engine is a four-speed manual transmission featuring overdrive in second, third and fourth gears. The creature comforts continue with the addition of an electric fan meaning that, according to the owner, the car “runs and drives well, no overheating.”

Summary

Following a full, body off restoration, this 1967 Triumph TR4A looks near immaculate. It is finished in a gorgeous dark blue colour which pairs excellently with its chrome accents. Underneath, there are little to no signs of wear, as is the case with the engine bay.

After four years in dry storage, this classic British sports car is looking to explore the open roads.
