The Appeal

Combining a frame from one maker and an engine from another led to some very special and unique motorcycles being built by enthusiasts determined to create the best handling and most powerful bike that they could.
These hybrids are now highly collectable and are usually very unique and this Tribsa is certainly no exception, combining a BSA A10 frame with the tried and tested 500cc Triumph T100 twin all-alloy engine, custom built in the export style, using higher handlebars, standard size forks and a shorter seat for that more laid back and relaxed riding style.
Real gold-plating of many details and parts help make this bike truly unique and a real piece of motorcycle art, that looks fantastic and could be ridden or entered in a show straight away.

The History and Paperwork

  • Custom built in 2005 over a two-year period
  • Current owner last 15 years
  • Registered in UK as Historic Vehicle
  • MOT exempt
  • V5c present
Starting with an original 1955 BSA Gold Flash frame and a vision of what would be possible, the bike was hand built over a two-year period in around 2005, by a very skilled and practiced builder of custom motorcycles.
After completion the bike was regularly ridden and well known to its current owner, who then purchased it in 2007 and used it regularly until around 2015, since which time it has been ridden more infrequently and is now being offered up for auction to make room for a new project.
This unique motorcycle has been built to a very high standard and proved to be great to ride and very reliable over the years and would certainly be at home in any classic motorcycle collection.

The Condition

  • Excellent condition
  • Many parts gold-plated
  • Many custom parts
The bike is in great overall condition with its gleaming chromed tank and real gold-plated detailing making it really stand out from the crowd and very pleasing to look at and admire. The attention to detail is evident as you look over the bike, with many components and individual brackets, washers and fixings gleaming bright with their real gold plating.
The Morad flanged alloy wheels with polished stainless-steel spokes are in excellent condition and have good tyres. Everything is very neat and tidy with the occasional sign of its age and being ridden and enjoyed over the years.
A period rev-counter has been added as a nice touch alongside the speedometer and the bike looks a real picture.

The Mechanics

  • T100 all alloy 500cc twin engine
  • Dry clutch and slick-shift gearbox
  • Competition central oil tank
  • BSA Gold Star swinging arm
The primary cases on the triumph engine were professionally shortened to allow the engine to fit into the BSA frame and it employs a dry clutch with uprated springs and plates to ensure no clutch slippage.
The engine pulls well with plenty of torque available even at low revs which makes for very relaxed riding with the big twin engine sounding superb through the shortened twin exhaust pipes, and the brakes have been fettled and adjusted to provide the maximum stopping power possible from its period drum brakes.
Regularly serviced during the last 15 of ownership the bike is mechanically very sound, starting easily and riding very nicely with its slick-shift gearbox enabling clutch-free gear changes.

The Summary

A Tribsa is a bike that you don’t come across everyday so if you are in the market for a very unique classic motorcycle that has been put together properly and well looked after through the years, this may be the bike for you.
It should certainly appeal to those collectors and enthusiasts looking for something in good all-round condition and that extra bit special.
