Highlights
- Practical Fordor body
- Late Model T with electric starter and lighting
- A great example of the car that put the world on wheels
The Appeal
This Model T wears smart ‘Fordor’ coachwork, which is unashamedly rectilinear in its styling and places it firmly in the early years of automotive design. It is a very practical body style: when most of its contemporaries still left their passengers out in the elements, a cosy saloon body was something of a luxury.
This particular Model T is presented in good condition, but it’s not so shiny that you’d be worried about driving it. It has evidently received new paint and upholstery at some point, but this has mellowed to give an air of gentle use over the years.
A few practical features on this car include an electric starter motor for when you don’t fancy starting it on the handle, and electric lighting. It has also been fitted with a 12V charging socket and an electric fuel pump. This means it can climb steep hills without having to be turned around to tackle the gradient in reverse.
