THE APPEAL
The Wall Auto Wheel was the perfect add-on accessory for your bicycle in 1914. Designed to attach alongside your bicycle’s rear wheel, the Auto Wheel gives you the capability of engine-powered transport. The 118cc air-cooled, two-stroke petrol engine produces 1bhp, and it is said to be capable of reaching 20mph.
This lovely example comes from a large private collection where it has been enjoyed since 2017. The condition is excellent and it is said to be working as it should. It was restored by a previous keeper who never registered it with the DVLA.
The vendor has spent time getting the Auto Wheel certified by Sunbeam Motor Cycle Club Pioneer Register and The Vintage Motor Cycle Club Ltd, and also registering it with the DVLA, which now sees it using the registration number BF 8645.

SUMMARY
A piece of 1914 motoring history, restored to its former glory several years ago, where it has then been kept as part of a larger collection.
For anyone into vintage motorcycles, this is something which must be experienced. A great piece of engineering designed by A.W. Wall in 1903, that improved over the years until this final 1912 design. In 1914 the units were reportedly made by BSA, some being sold by BSA to fit between the rear wheels of a tricycle.
