42 YEARS - Wartburg Trabant IFA Club in the UK
The Wartburg Trabant IFA Club in the UK was founded in 1969 as the Wartburg Owners’ Club. Only the Czech Wartburg Club is known to be older.
The Wartburg Trabant IFA Club UK has over 200 members who share an interest in the native vehicles of the former German Democratic Republic and other Eastern European countries.
The club is non-profit making and professes no political affiliations.
It is a member of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle clubs.
Two years ago the club could celebrate its 40th anniversary but that’s not all, 48 years ago the first Wartburg 311 was imported into the UK and
22 years ago the ‘iron curtain’ fell.
The IFA Club welcomes ALL enthusiasts who share an interest in classic vehicles and has a lot to offer. Not only organizes the club regular events
all over the country they are also there to support their members with technical problems, local events, car insurance and legal questions from importing a vehicle into the UK over MoT and registration queries to type approval requirements.
