The Ford Mk1 & Mk2 Granada Drivers Guild was formed in 1993 to cater for all Ford Consul's and Granada's Mk1 and Mk2 1972 - 1985, read about them here. The Guild is run by a small, unpaid Committee on behalf of the members. We are a friendly group of car enthusiasts who are keen to promote the ownership and use of the cars but also enjoy the social side.
We therefore have several regional groups in the UK who hold regular area meetings as well as arranging club stands at various shows through out the show season.
As well as a sizeable UK membership we also have a several European members; in Ireland, Belgium & Germany and we have very good contacts with other similar car clubs in Europe.
We issue a Guild magazine titled “New & Views” to the members 4 times a year which is full of information on show reports, photos, members letters, nostalgia articles, technical information, car spares, cars for sale and not forgetting the Chairmans Chat page.
News & Views also lists contact details of Area co-ordinators, technical advisers, committee members. Members are requested to respect that the Guild officials are unpaid volunteers with normal jobs and lifestyles so phone calls should be at sensible times.
In the spring issue of News & Views we issue a comprehensive listing of car shows in the UK & Europe coming up for that year where the Guild will be represented. All the shows listed are well worth attending and each has a different and unique atmosphere. Some of the shows are very popular with the membership and will require pre booking - contacts are stated on the show listing.
The yearly highlight is the Guild International weekend rally and AGM at Wicksteed Park in Kettering, Northamptonshire in July. This weekend get together is always well attended by the UK & European membership and their families.
The Guild also operates the Granada Rescue service which is a unique emergency breakdown service run by members for the members. If you have broken down your can ring one of the volunteers listed in News & Views and on this website who should be able to come out and offer assistance. All you have to pay for is the parts used and the volunteer’s petrol.
Another great advantage of being a Guild member is access to a network of UK contacts for spare parts which are all listed in our magazine. We also offer a free car insurance valuation service to all members. The Guild is on the list of accepted car clubs so our valuations are accepted by all the major classic car insurance companies.
