The Ex-Military Land Rover Association was set up with the following aims:
Promote the operation, restoration & preservation of ex-Military Land Rovers, and the interest in them.
Support this aim by promoting events and shows, attending established vehicle shows, and by organising Association meetings for members to socialise and display their vehicles.
Provide members with information, advice and assistance concerning ex-Military Land Rovers. Encourage research and accumulation of documents, photographs and other relevant material by the Association.
Afford members such benefits and privileges as it may be possible.
Operate a club merchandising service for the supply of badges, books, promotional clothing and other items for the benefit of members.
Dirt Common?
The standard Series II and III GS (General Service) used by the military is of as much interest to the EMLRA as the many variations of tactical and specialised vehicles. History has repeated itself where a rare vehicle is preserved whilst the more common vehicles are, or may be, neglected to the point of becoming a rarity themselves in standard condition.
Don't Own One, Don't Want To Go!
Ownership of a military Land Rover is not a condition of membership and many members are unable or unwilling to attend shows. There is a bi-monthly Newsletter to inform members of show dates and other events, and publishes a range of articles relating to the history and ownership of these vehicles. So, if you have an interest in ex-military Land Rovers, we would welcome you as a member of the Association.
You can contact the Club via the Committee page; please appreciate the volunteer nature of the running of the club when making requests or asking for information.
Online applications and payment by paypal via the Membership page have proven popular with new members joining and existing members renewing. The EMLRA Forum has always been free, you don't have to be in the EMLRA to join it. To avoid confusion though, if you join the EMLRA online and want to also join in on the forum, you need to register again via the forum, the two processes are not connected. Remember to contact the Forum admin once you have registered there and let them know who you are.
