The Bean Car Club caters for all makes of Vintage, Veteran and pre-1940 cars, with a section for those owning, or with a special interest in, Bean cars.

The Club was founded over 35 years ago by Captain Tapley, who felt that there should be a club for the less exotic early car - the more exotic such as Bentley, Bugatti and Rolls-Royce had been well catered for for years. Such a car was exemplified by the Bean which he owned, a well engineered car worth saving. Thus the Bean Car Club was formed.

Today the Bean Car Club organises events throughout the year, the most famous and one of the largest annual 'family' runs in the UK being the National Daffodil Run. This is held in April and attracts an entry of over 150 cars which set out from the Seven Stars, Knowl Hill, for the historic priory town of Christchurch via a well earned lunch stop at the Alice Lisle in the New Forest.

Among other annual events are the Cobweb Run, the Old Bean Section Day, and the Harvest Tour. These have no fixed venues, but are very enjoyable and light-hearted with invariably a good public house fitted somewhere into the route. The Club also holds an annual film show and supper, where historic and also comic pictures back up members' own footage taken during the year, not forgetting participation in several of the V.S.C.C.'s events including driving tests, races, trials and hill-climbs.

The Club also produces a Magazine on general old motoring matters, and a monthly Newsletter; in which members can advertise cars and parts free of charge. Although members are distributed around the world, it is still very much a local club and meets on the 4th Thursday at the Frog and Wicket, The Green, Eversley Cross, Hampshire RG27 ONS.
