This is an incredible motorcycle to ride and as a keen motorcyclist myself this bike rides spot on.
The BSA sounds absolutely fantastic when powering away it handles extremely well it looks absolutely fantastic with its front fairing side panniers and top box.
The detail that has gone into this machine including the spokes all replaced with stainless steel the work that has been done has gone into so much detail there's just to much to list and comes with a massive? binder of receipts containing all the work that has been done by some of the best names in the business.
This is probably a one off chance to own such an incredible motorcycle this is a fantastic machine for short journeys or long distanced touring it is so comfortable to ride.
I have laid just some of the paperwork out for you to see which runs into thousands of pounds spent.
What an incredible machine to add to your collection and a total talking point one surely not to be missed.
Make & Model BSA A10
Documents V5C; MOT May 2018; large history file
Full Description Launched by BSA in the early ‘50s the A10 was a 650cc upgrade of the A7 500cc twin and was aimed squarely at the power-hungry American market.
Originally made in rigid and plunger frame versions, it was again upgraded to the new swing-arm frame for the 1954 season. More power was extracted from the power plant over the coming seasons and performance versions (Road Rocket, Super Rocket and ultimately the Rocket Gold Star) were produced up until the model’s demise in 1964.
There is some irony in the fact that modern bike manufacturers make ‘retro’ models that ape the very bikes they consigned to history. This bike, though, has gone the other way. It’s a 1962 BSA Road Rocket which has been skilfully updated.
There have been so many modifications to this A10 that it is hard to know where to start the list. The engine has been upgraded with Lucas RITA electronic ignition, three-phase alternator and electric start. More power is provided courtesy of Wiseco 9:1 compression pistons, a 357 Spitfire camshaft and Concentric carburettor as well as the distinct advantage of Carillo con-rods, SRM bearing conversion, high delivery oil pump, oil filter and other lubrication upgrades. Cam followers and attendant work by Cake Street Classics are also included.
The gearbox is the standard BSA item but converted to left-foot change (and, yes, the rear brake lever has also been moved over) and there is a hydraulic clutch conversion by Phil Pearson Engineering.
A Triumph T140 front end has been fitted, with progressive springs and fork brace, twin full-floating discs and AP Racing calipers. There is a full floater disc at the rear along with Hagon shockers and both wheels are fitted with stainless steel spokes. There is a touring half-faring fitted and twin spotlights and indicators. The bike also has a full set of Craven top box and panniers and front and rear crash bars.
This BSA is the result of many years work and there are receipts totalling over £14, 000 for the parts and specialist work that has been put into it. There is no aspect of the bike that has not been considered and some of the best names in the business have been involved.
However, in the best tradition of the development engineer, the bike is now for sale: it has covered only 1, 000 miles since completion. It is often the way – in modern parlance it is “more about the journey than the destination”. Some people just like the nuts and bolts more than the riding.
