This very early Land Rover Series 2a was built in January 1962.
The chassis number makes it a Home Market 88" SWB Bronze Green RHD 2. 25 Petrol.
Tax and MOT exempt.
Up to date V5 document ready to go in new owners name.
The are very similar to the early Series 2's with lots of early features incl 3 bolt stronger tailgates, flat 2 bolt front valance, twin wiper motors etc
57 WKX was first registered in Buckinghamshire on 1st March 1962. The registration plate is transferable and valuable but it would be a shame to part them after all these years!
It appears to have had very few owners with one from 1977 to 1993 and then the last owner who had it from 1993 to 2025 (32 years!)
Lots of invoices and old MOTs it has been regularly maintained at MOT time but has done an astonishing 3, 000 miles in the last 32 years!
It is now in need of some TLC and will make a great running and driving project that can be used and improved over time.
It had a new chassis in 1983 and it is still in solid condition.
The bulkhead is very solid up top and around the vents.
The footwells have been patched over the years and could now do with sorting properly.
The original 251 engine starts readily and ticks over nicely.
The clutch and gearbox work well.
The brakes work but I would recommend servicing them as they are a little spongy.
Good matching tyres all round.
Mostly original hide seats.
This Land Rover will be great for kids/ dogs/ logging and they are very difficult to find in original condition like this.
