Description
Ford Consul, rare left-hand drive The British Ford works presented a new mid-range car in 1950 (2 years before the 12M G13). It was the first European Ford to have a modern pontoon body and a newly designed petrol engine (top-steered) with a displacement of 1500 cm and 48 hp (36 kW). The Ford offered here was purchased on 14 August 1954 by a doctor living in Kerkrade from the car dealer "Haaren" in Heerlen. This gentleman drove the vehicle for approx. 40, 000 kilometres until 1975. The car was then parked until 2000, when it was registered again for the first time. There was another change of ownership in 2009 with a mileage of 52, 000 kilometres. The current mileage is just under 54, 000 kilometres. Due to these circumstances, the Ford is in excellent condition. The paintwork is 90% original. The interior is in fantastic condition. The car appears to be unwelded and shows no signs of rusting through. The Consul is a pleasure to drive. The powerful engine easily keeps up with today's traffic. Fans of the 1950s will not be able to ignore this cuddly vehicle. There is also a thick folder with the history, the original operating instructions, workshop manual, spare parts catalogue, etc. The car has German vehicle documents and an H certificate.
