‘XSF 765W’ represents a rarely seen ¼ Ton van version of the evergreen Mini. In strict Mini parlance this is a Mini 95 with the van gaining this designation in 1978 in recognition of its gross vehicle weight of 0. 95 tons. ‘XSF 765W’ is a UK specified and supplied vehicle, being first registered in August 1980 and originally left Longbridge in a white hue. Since then, ‘XSF 765W’ has been through the hands of ten previous keepers which is significantly below average for a vehicle of this age. The current owner acquired ‘XSF 765W’ around 6 months ago. The Mini appears to have benefitted from an earlier restoration and an obvious change to its current red livery. A number of useful upgrades have been made and ‘XSF 765W’ is now classified as an Historic Vehicle and, hence, zero rated for road tax and MOT exempt. ‘XSF 765W’ is offered here with NO RESERVE making this a truly exciting ownership proposition.

The Mini van was never a niche model with well over 500, 000 made. However, they are very much at the scarce end of the model spectrum today, likely thanks to the life of a commercial vehicle being generally more rigorous. As such ‘XSF 765W’ is a great survivor and looks utterly charming with its “Clacks Classics” sign writing, number roundels and three spot lamp set up. A Wimbledon White roof panel and matching bonnet stripes only add to the eye catching look of this classic commercial. Even the traditionally basic interior has enjoyed a significant upgrade courtesy of a pair of grey and red, deeply bolstered bucket seats. The vendor rates paintwork, bodywork and interior condition as “good.”

‘XSF 765W’ features the erstwhile 998cc A-series engine paired with a four speed manual transmission. This factory specification has been augmented with a front disc brake conversion and a stainless steel exhaust system. New wheels and tyres have also been fitted during the current ownership. ‘XSF 765W’s’ engine, transmission and electrics are all vendor rated as “good.”

In summary:

· A harming example of the popular but more scarce Mini van

· Benefitting from an earlier restoration and some useful upgrades

· Now MOT and VED exempt due to Historic Vehicle status
