Registration no. see text
Frame no. WM 76739
Engine no. 071B 54556
• 46, 311 miles to the odometer

After WW2 Francis-Barnett concentrated on the production of lightweight two-strokes powered firstly by Villiers engines, while from 1957 AMC's own power units were fitted to many models. In the early 1950s the Falcon used the Villiers 8E 197cc engine and by 1956 was being built with a swinging-arm frame, partially enclosed centre section, and 18" wheels, the latter being introduced on the Model 74.

This Falcon 74 has been dry stored when not in use and currently displays a total of 46, 311 miles on the odometer at the time of cataloguing/ photography. The Falcon was first registered in the UK and then exported to Guernsey in 1986. It comes with a Guernsey Registration Certificate for '12448'.

It should be noted that although it displays the Vehicle Registration Number 'WKO 483' and comes with its original RF. 60 Logbook for that number, this motorcycle does not appear in the HPI/ DVLA database. Accordingly, prospective purchasers should satisfy themselves with regard to the validity and status of this motorcycle's registration prior to bidding. The successful purchaser is responsible for applying to the DVLA to retrieve the vehicle's registration number.

Additional documentation includes sundry bills/ invoices; Francis-Barnett Owner's Club correspondence; copies of 'The Directory' magazine; and assorted marque-related literature. A small quantity of spares is included in the sale.

All lots are sold 'as is/ where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding. Visit the Bonhams Motorcycles website for all pertinent auction information.
