Description

CFW 777T is in superb condition and has an extensive history file with MOT’s to support the mileage and general condition. The 1. 8 “B” series engine has superb oil pressure. The overdrive unit works in 3rd and 4th gears as it should and the car drives as well as any 46 years old vintage car should; perhaps better due to suspension upgrades. MOT and Tax exempt.
The car presents as very original, including the period correct grey “deckchair” upholstery contrasting with the Pageant Blue paintwork – very 1970s!Under the bonnet is very clean, tidy and original. Many MOT certificates going back as far as 1986 (which verify the mileage) are included in the extensive history file which accompanies the car.
There are many receipts going back to 1988 and some pictorial records of the restoration work carried out over its history, including a restoration in 1988 to include new panels (2x front wings, sills etc) and full respray. There are photos of further works in 2014 and during my ownership since 2023 including; fully rebuilt front and rear suspension with poly bushes, new front springs, front and rear shocks and rear linkages. Rebuilt front and rear brakes with new callipers, disks, rear cylinders, new brake shoes and handbrake cable. The rear axel has been rebuilt to include new oil seals and an “anti-Clunk” kit.
The car benefits from a stainless-steel fuel tank and stainless-steel exhaust. Electronic ignition, oil cooler and electric fan with an override switch on the dashboard.
The previous owners have kept the car garaged and used it sparingly (apart from two trips to LeMans), and the mileage can be verified. Myself and the previous owner have not taken the car out in the rain and I suspect other owners have pampered it as well, judging from the history file.
When I bought the car, it had Minilite wheels and an aftermarket steering wheel. I have replaced these with an original steering wheel and refurbished and repainted factory spec Rostyle wheels with new tyres.
The underside of the car appears to have been treated from new with an undercoating which has protected it from the ravages of time (and road salt). Where this has become loose or flaked, I have carefully scraped it away and then coated with Waxoyl undercoating. Plugged holes in the sills and door shuts evidence rustproofing treatment in the car’s past.

9 previous owners are recorded, but over the last 27 years there have been 4 very careful ones, all
of us spending considerable time and money (as witnessed by extensive receipts) preserving and enjoying a piece of British motoring heritage and history.
