Lot 236
Property of a deceased's estate
1955 Triumph 650cc T110
Registration no. VKX 907
Frame no. 69250
Engine no. T110 69250
Apparently an older restoration, this Triumph T110 comes with a V5C recording the late owner as registered keeper from February 2019. ('VKX 907' is not in the HPI database; however, it is registered with the DVLA.) According to a dating letter on file, '69250' was dispatched to A W Harrison & Son Ltd, High Wycombe on 1st July 1955. The engine number is restamped but the frame number is a correct factory stamp (albeit showing a slight bounce on the '9' stamp).
Also on file is a selection of invoices in the name of Mr S Fogden of Bishopsteignton, Devon, together with an undated handwritten note advising the new owner to run-in the bike. The note also states it had new main and new big-end bearings, re-sleeved and new pistons, new valve guides, chain, clutch plates, wheels and tyres, seat, exhaust pipes, etc. On file is a 2017 invoice for £908 for various parts including exhaust pipes, petrol taps, and tyres. A 6V electronic ignition has been fitted. It should be noted that some rubber components have perished and the fuel lines appear quite hard. The odometer reading is 5 miles. Accompanying documentation includes the original 1959 continuation logbook; paperwork for a Thorspark Electronic Ignition Conversion; and photographs of the engine dismantled.
Following a period of inactivity, this motorcycle will require recommissioning to a greater or lesser extent and thus is sold strictly as viewed (the engine turns over with compression). Key not required.
All lots are sold 'as is/ where is' and Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding. Visit the Bonhams Motorcycles website for all pertinent auction information.
