Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, Timed Online Auction - 10th April on Thursday the 10th of April. BackgroundProdrive undertook the mammoth task of developing the Ford Mondeo for the 1999 and 2000 seasons and chassis number PR-ST/ F-2K-01 – the cars were fiercely competitive in 2000 with 11 race wins from 24 races. This resulted in Ford Team Mondeo not only taking the Drivers' Championship (Alain Menu), but also second (Anthony Reid) and third (Rickard Rydell). Unsurprisingly, Ford Team Mondeo also won the 2000 Manufacturers' Championship and the 2000 Touring Teams Championship.
The CarBefore this example was turned into a simulator, it was a test car for the 1999 season and at the end of the season it was converted into a simulator to feature on Ford's stand at a show at the Millennium Dome in the year 2000. All the bodywork and interior are believed to be as they were when it was converted back to a sim car, with the door being signed by Alain Menu. Still fitted with parts from Ford and Prodrive that would have been in the track-going version back in 1999. This simulator comes with the PS1 TOCA racing game, the screen fitted to a black stand, as shown in the photos, and the white pit board.
This is a rare piece of Ford and Prodrive history, perfect for the garage.
