First registered in December 2002, this Morgan Plus 8 'J888 YOD' was ordered new through Brands Hatch Morgans at a total cost of £45, 582. 06. The original invoice is in the accompanying documents folder together with a step-by-step photographic record of the entire build of the car at the Morgan Motor Works, Malvern.
It was then purchased by our current vendor from his Father -in -law on the 23rd of August 2016 and comes with a copy of the Deed of Assignment.
The car is powered by the famous 4. 0-litre Rover V8, which drives via a five-speed manual gearbox and limited-slip differential. Notable options include a polished wood dashboard; heated windscreen; sports seats; wire wheels with spinners; map light; stainless bonnet props; stainless luggage rack; and chrome sidelights to the front wings. The car is finished in Ferrari Corsa Red while the interior is trimmed in contrasting Muirhead Shetland Stone leather with red piping and red carpets. A stainless-steel rollbar is fitted, which bolts directly to the chassis, while the PVC hood is finished in Stone and looks unused. The matching PVC tonneau cover is zip-split for driving alone, and the Moto-Lita steering wheel is trimmed in Stone leather also.
The Morgan has been serviced regularly including a major service at 22, 900 miles which included new hard-chrome kingpins and the replacement of both rear brake cylinders. Currently displaying a total of circa 23, 000 miles on the odometer, this car has been meticulously cared for, being kept in a dry garage and only coming out on sunny days, rarely seeing any rain. In 2014 'J888 YOD' featured on the cover of the Morgan Sports Car Club's magazine, Miscellany. The car is offered with a V5C Registration Certificate and MoT to January 2026. Also included in the sale is a red storm cover and dust cover.
