Description
This exceptionally rare UK supplied RHD example Porsche 911 997. 2 GT2 RS has been exceptionally maintained during its ownership and can boast the title of the most powerful, manual road going Porsche ever made with just 24 examples supplied to the UK market. The car features a host of discerning upgrades over the ‘standard’ GT2 variant with its twin-turbocharged 3. 6-litre flat-six engine produces an impressive 612bhp and 516lb-ft of torque versus ‘just’ 523bhp in the GT2. Other differences include a more extensive use of carbon fibre inside and out as well as the use of other lightweight materials allowing for a 70kg weight reduction versus the GT2
The vehicle is finished in black and features the very rare and expensive carbon-fibre front wings, a carbon-fibre bonnet, and a substantial rear wing. It rides on original centre-lock wheels paired with yellow brake calipers and ceramic discs. While originally equipped with electrically adjustable Adaptive Sport Seats, a previous owner had these replaced with OEM carbon-fibre bucket seats by Porsche Centre Teesside in early 2020. At the same time, the steering wheel, gear knob, and handbrake lever were upgraded to genuine Porsche Alcantara items. The car comes complete with its original tools, books, brochure, spare keys and fobs, as well as the original Adaptive Sport Seats.
The car is reported to be in excellent condition with no known body damage. Full paint protection film (PPF) was applied to the front by Topaz in May 2016, with the rest of the car covered in July 2017. The interior is equally well-preserved, featuring bucket seats with black leather upholstery in superb condition. There are no known mechanical or electrical faults, and the car passed its most recent MOT test on April 2, 2021, with no advisories at 3, 306 miles.
Its service history highlights consistent maintenance at Porsche main dealers, with the last service in September 2020 at 3, 269 miles by Porsche Centre Teesside. This included an engine oil and filter change, new stabiliser links, and brake fluid replacement. A rev range check conducted at the same mileage showed minimal ignitions in lower ranges and none in higher ranges, underscoring the car's careful use.
In summary, this is a remarkable and highly collectible 911, believed to be one of only 24 UK-market examples of the Porsche 997 GT2 RS. With its limited-edition status, meticulous servicing history, and recent maintenance, this car offers peace of mind and an extraordinary ownership experience for its next custodian.
