Description
The OSCA 1600 GT berlinetta was the final creation of the Maserati brothers. It featured a tubular chassis with independent front and rear suspension and it was powered by Aurelio Lampredi’s lauded four-cylinder twin-cam engine. Of the 128 cars built between 1960 and 1963, a total of 98 cars were bodied by Zagato and featured lightweight alloy coachwork with the signature “double-bubble” roof.
This 1962 car was sold new in Italy and came into the hands of an Italian enthusiast in early 1965 who started to participated in local races. In the period 1995 to 2002 the car went through a ground-up restoration, before ending up in the hands of a Maserati & OSCA collectors family. They used the car quite often, even in Goodwood events.
In 2011 the car was purchased from them by another Maserati & OSCA specialist who serviced the car and gave the engine a complete engine-overhaul. This resulted in an engine that deliveres 140 HP now.
